All of us in some way or another place limits on the things we can achieve. Think of what you were like as a 6 year old, what were your dreams?
I wanted to be an air-force pilot, for others it may have been a fireman, a schoolteacher, or an astronaut. I am sure my daughter Jessica wants to be famous. As a child our life is usually limitless, and we are excited about the journey ahead.
But during the rough and tumble of growing up we allow the setbacks of life become limits.
When we fail, instead of try, try again our failure can become our ceiling. But it doesn't need to be that way. Think of life like a Karate lesson; you work hard on something and initially you may a lot of progress, like in Karate you might go from a white belt to a yellow belt. Then for a time you reach a plateau, in life just like Karate, many people get stuck in the plateau and never reach black belt. Yet all it takes is persistence and practice. Instead of letting the plateau become your ceiling, it is time to let your child like mind take over. We live in a world full of opportunities, waiting to be taken. Break the ceiling and go beyond it and become all you were meant to be.
